Manual Handling Training
Certification: Participants will receive AMPM Safety & Environmental certificate of attendance on completion of a written and practical assessment.
Duration: Approx 4 hours
Training Aim: The aim of the Manual Handling Training programme is to ensure that learners gain the skills required to carry out the key principles of the Kinetic Lifting Technique in a safe manner.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the overall training period learners will be able to
- State the relevant Health and Safety Legislation in relation to Manual Handling.
- Describe the structure and function of the spine.
- Identify postures that increase the pressure on the discs.
- Demonstrate the correct technique for lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying loads by hand and team lifting.
Facilities:
Manual Handling Training is normally conducted in employer’s premises, but a suitable venue can be arranged.
Participants:Maximum 14 per group.
